Hyūga (日向市 Hyūga-shi?) is a city located in Miyazaki, Japan.

The city was founded on April 1, 1951.

On February 25, 2006 the town of Tōgō, from Higashiusuki District, was merged into Hyūga.

As of March 2008, the city has an estimated population of 63,082 and the density of 188 persons per km². The total area is 336.29 km².

Hyūga is known for the production of luxury Go stones and for a very fine surfing beach nearby.
